Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?
It’s a weird occurrence, and it’s sort of ironic. As I begin this post, I’ll explain the attitude of my younger self. Yes, I remember it plain and simple. I recall being young, and I recollect thinking, “As I age, I swear I won’t change…old people are boring.” Today, in this post, I’ll explain how I let the younger version of me down.
It seems, even in the ranks of family, where the love is mutual, that the generation gap engenders differences. The kids, they’re into one thing, the adults…well, their interests are wholly different. And while we share many personality traits, sometimes, it’s hard to find things that both of us are really interested in.
Like I had mentioned earlier, because of that, we think, “Man, I am never going to change…I’ll always listen to the hippest music and I’ll watch the coolest movies…or TV shows.
Uhhh…
Right now, I couldn’t list one song in the top ten. As for movies, unless it’s from a franchise that’s forty years old…okay, once in a great while, I’ll watch a Marvel Studios flick, but really, I’m not too sure what’s popular anymore.
And those are the past times I’ve lost interest in. It’s simply the evolution of the human mind, and I’m not trying to be a cool’ older person. If you happen to be a hip senior citizen, hey, more power to you. Yet, unbelievably, I’m absolutely happy with who I am. So, I guess, with me, growing up was the inevitable path.
Have an Excellent Day!
